Getting an Apprenticeship means that you will:

  • earn money
  • get quality training to help you get a nationally recognised qualification

If you’re not quite ready for an Apprenticeship, then a Traineeship will help you improve your maths, English and work skills whilst getting work experience with a local employer.

Traineeships were introduced in 2013 and are being described as ‘pre-apprenticeships’. They are aimed at equipping young people with the workplace skills and experience that employers are looking for. They are flexible work preparation programmes, which last between six weeks and six months and they include work experience placements and they aim to provide a pathway to employment and apprenticeships for young people.
